Newparks Farm will reopen to the public on the 16th of July with safety restrictions in place. Please read the following info carefully before planning your visit.
Muiravonside is Falkirk's only Country Park, providing 170 acres of stunning woodland and parkland, a mini demonstration farm, a sculpture trail, children's play area and a café at the Visitor Hub courtyard.
The River Avon trail runs through the site, please follow the diversion signs to navigate round the section of route closed due to rock fall. The John Muir way passes close to the site and can be accessed by following the wooden stairs up to the top of the impressive aqueduct. The Sculpture and Poetry trail added to the park in 2016 can be enjoyed by heading through the archway off the main car park and then following the 'art in the park' way markers and map boards.
The park has a great play area next to the café, and also two adventure trails full of chunky wooden play equipment and suitable for the more adventurous. They are waymarked Activ8 and Play Trail and can be started either near the café or the car park.
We run a whole program of events from wildlife watches to craft sessions. Education activities and private tours can also be booked directly with the Countryside Ranger.
We run a regular conservation volunteering program which you can join at any time. We welcome everyone and you don't need any special skills, just enthusiasm, sensible outdoor clothing and an interest in improving the park. Please contact the Countryside Ranger to register your interest and find out more via our email@example.com email address.
Fishing is by Permit only. Information on this is available from http://slamannan.net/
The farm is closed to visitors at the moment. The stockeepers and our regular volunteers are working hard to keep the collection of animals well looked after during lockdown. These include..
The restored farm steading buildings house an assortment of smaller animals including rabbits and exotic birds whilst the nearby wildfowl pond and bird enclosures contain the flocks of larger birds like chickens, geese and ducks.
Newparks farm is home to a wide collection of animals and as you can imagine there's a lot of food, care and attention required to keep them healthy and safe. Your support help us cover the costs of the up keep and allow us to provide the best care possible for the animals.
If you'd like to support the farm there's a few different options:
We have four amazing donkeys who arrived at the farm as rescues and if you'd like to help with their upkeep by sponsoring, donating or even coming to the farm to meet them visit our support page.
Or you can now become a Friend of the Farm and for only £20.00 a year you can make a massive difference to the animals lives and in return we will send you a Christmas card and gift now, plus an update at Easter, as well as inviting you to a special VIP guided farm tour in the summer.

The Steadings Café can be found at the Visitor Hub courtyard and up until 31st March 2020 will be run by the Action Group as a training opportunity for young people with different needs. Sadly their core funding from the Fairer Falkirk Fund has been withdrawn and unless other funds are found to replace them this service will not continue in the new financial year and the café will close during the week. The Action Group are running a crowd fund if you would like to donate and try and keep this facility open.
The Café is staffed at weekends by Falkirk Community Trust where you'll find a selection of hot and cold food and drinks. Next to the café are the ruins of the old house and a children's play area.
Please note the cafe is currently closed.
Our play park provides fantastic and safe fun for the family. You will find picnic benches, climbing frames, swings including an accessible swing, a slide alongside other play equipment.
