It’s back…!  The Hippodrome is proud to present our latest chocolate taste-along screening: a Valentine’s presentation of the evergreen rom-com Groundhog Day.

Join us for our Groundhog Day screening experience: a Hippodrome Valentine’s date with a difference. The showing will be paired with a bespoke tasting-box selection – each chocolate lovingly crafted to match the film’s most celebrated moments.  This is your chance to re-live this lovable classic in the most delicious way possible.  Treat your date and yourself to a heart-melting movie plus melt-in-the-mouth chocolate.

Bill Murray is Phil Connors, a selfish and cynical weatherman begrudgingly contracted to make the annual trek with his team to a small American backwater to cover Groundhog Day – the local folklore tradition involving a groundhog emerging from its burrow, said to predict the weather for the next six weeks.  Having reached his destination Phil gets snowed in, along with his upbeat Producer Rita (Andie MacDowell) but on waking up the next morning Phil finds it is Groundhog Day all over again...

The delicious handmade chocolates are made to order.  We have pre-ordered 120 boxes.   We can order more up to two weeks ahead of the screening.  The final date on which we can order extra boxes is Friday 30 January so make sure you book your chocolates by midday on 30 January so that we can cater to demand and guarantee your specially curated taste-along experience. 

Expert chocolatier Nadia Williams of Thinking Chocolate (www.thinkingchocolate.com) has partnered with us to carefully craft a bespoke Hippodrome taste-along experience.  With a ‘Chocolate Tasting Experience’ ticket each guest will be given a selection of numbered chocolates* tailored to correspond with key scenes in the film… simply wait for the number cue to be signalled from the stage, then savour the paired taste experience.  Select your film tickets online and then add the Chocolate Tasting Experience to your basket before check-out.
