HippFest
Each year we welcome a team of enthusiastic and hard-working volunteers to help us deliver the HippFest programme by welcoming audiences, assisting at events to ensure they run smoothly, and conducting evaluation surveys. Our volunteers are of all ages and from diverse backgrounds, but what they have in common is a passion for silent film with live music and a desire to make sure everyone has a great time at HippFest.
Interested in joining us? We will announce details of how to volunteer with us for our 2026 Festival in January 2026.
Hippsters
Hippsters is our constellation of engagement opportunities for young people at HippFest, including our brilliant HippFest Young Programmers!
The HippFest Young Programmers is a development opportunity for anyone wanting to learn more about any aspect of organising and programming for film festivals. The group will have self-directed opportunities to engage with and programme events around the HippFest programme, Taste of Silents, HippCast and HippFest at Home platforms, with professional development sessions, networking and peer learning taking place over a year-long initiative. Applications for HippFest Young Programmers open in September annually.
Read more about our Hippsters opportunities, and how to apply to join our Young Programmers team, on our Youth and Community page.
