HippFest at Home | Maurice Tourneur: Franco-American Film Pioneer

BSL-English supported event with closed captions

In 1914, an unknown French director arrived in New York. Four years later, Maurice Tourneur was one of the most celebrated American filmmakers with D. W. Griffith and Cecil B. DeMille. From his beginnings as a painter, this presentation will endeavour to recapture the essence of an artist who helped to shape the feature film at a crucial time in its development.

Presented by Christine Leteux, film historian and author based in Paris.

Viewers tuning is at this time will be able to pose questions via the chat box if they wish, to which Christine Leteux will respond 'live' in the chat box.

'Maurice Tourneur: Franco-American Film Pioneer' is available to online audiences free of charge, and will remain available as part of our library of online content.
