Pysanka workshop | Making Ukrainian Easter eggs

Venue: Bo’ness Town Hall, Glebe Park, Stewart Ave, Bo'ness EH51 9NJ

Access: this venue is wheelchair accessible

It is said that as long as Pysanky (Ukrainian Easter eggs) are being made somewhere in the world, the balance between good and evil is maintained.

Discover the traditional art of writing Pysanky and decorating Ukrainian Easter eggs.  You will learn about the culture of Pysanky, using a traditional kistka tool to "write" your own pysanka with intricate folk designs through the wax-resist method. This workshop will be led by Hania Smith from D2 The Creative Centre: a multi-purpose arts centre located in Larbert which houses a large teaching studio, exhibition space and 14 artists’ studios, supported by Ukrainian artist Kateryna Turchyna.

All materials will be provided, and each participant may take home their own pysanka

Minimum age: 14
