Dive into this special Falkirk Science Festival Film event exploring the science of cold water immersion, revealing how even a chilly dip can help your mood, brain, immune system and heart…
In our feature film, Scottish based filmmaker Rachel Sarah follows Sunderland swimmer Becca Harvey over a year of her life, from coming out of the solitude of lockdowns, to being back in the buzz of the swim community events as she trains toward her Ice Mile swim in water of 5 degrees or below. This special film takes us through the beauty and the harshness of UK landscapes through the exploration of bodies of water, celebrating our natural spaces – from mountain tarns to the ocean that surrounds us, exploring grief, healing, community, and the power of cold water.
The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the filmmaker Rachel Sarah, the swimmer Becca Harvey, hosted by therapist and person-centred counsellor Dr Steve Kelly.
