Fill your life with film
HippFest at Home brings the festival to audiences across the world. For HippFest 2026 we streamed seven feature presentations on demand – including April Fool, Captain January, Fante-Anne, Saxophone Susy, The Bat, The White Heather and, for the first time, our local schools initiative New Found Sound – plus an online Film Salon hosted by Movies Silently’s Fritzi Kramer.
While the 2026 viewing window has now closed, you can still enjoy our illustrated pre-festival presentations below and our monthly podcast HippCast. HippFest at Home returns alongside the festival in March 2027.
Scotland (?) on the Silent Screen - presented by Janet McBain
Art Deco Cinema Architecture - presented by Professor Bruce Peter
Weimar Slapstick - presented by Dr Paul Flaig
Our HippFest at Home programme extends the reach of the Festival to new audiences in a variety of digital formats. Featuring a monthly festival podcast; Q&As with performers, archivists, and film historians; innovative online events; and insightful, cross-cultural conversations about archive cinema - we hope that there's something for everyone.
