Returning to his birthplace to claim his inheritance, young dandy Willie McKay (Keaton) falls for his fellow-traveller, the beautiful Virginia Canfield (Talmadge). Equally smitten, Virginia invites Willie to her home for some good old-fashioned Southern “hospitality”, neither one realising they are destined to be sundered by an ancient feud which demands that her family must kill every member of his. Packed with hugely entertaining gags and some of Keaton’s most daring and inventive set pieces, this comedy masterpiece is rightly celebrated as a classic of silent cinema.
This popular Jeely Jar show starts with the legendary HippFest Heids and Bahookies competition for all the audience.
