Over 100 years old, Scotland's first purpose built picture palace, lovingly restored to the décor of its 1920's heyday makes a unique location for your event. Included in your hire is state-of-the-art facilities as the Hippodrome is equipped with 35mm and digital projection, power point and internet access, satellite broadcast technology and a comprehensive range of presentation equipment and technical support.

Stalls Area

The stalls area on the ground floor seats 100 with 3 spaces for wheelchairs. There is an infra-red system for the hard of hearing. Toilets (including wheelchair accessible) and baby changing facilities are located to the rear along with the space for refreshments and catering.

Balcony

The balcony seats 73 in the central section plus an additional 47 in the wings. Heritage toilets are located at the rear of the balcony. Please note that there is no lift access to the balcony and the stairs are not suitable for the elderly or infirm.

Facilities

2K DLP projection and 35 mm projection, digital sound, projection from Blu-ray, DVD and VHS, PowerPoint projection from a laptop, access to the satellite feed, lectern with microphones, lapel and roaming microphones, stage lighting.

Limitations

Private hire arrangements are strictly subject to availability; the primary business of the cinema being a public facility.
